Swim Leg

jaspertine

I was in a very bass playing mood this evening. Like pretty much every week, there were moments where I thought I wouldn’t get the song done in time.

What I think is happening is that I’m looking at where I am at the halfway point, and then freaking out about how little has actually gotten done. But when you break it down, that’s just time spent getting all the pieces set up properly, which is why rapid progress is made in the back half.

There’s a bit of a “drunk stumble” in the rhythm at key points. This was the result of a technical compromise made to save time, but I was confident that if I repeated the riff enough times, you’d get the feel for it.

That, and a few things could have been turned up a bit more in the final mix.

Overall, this was a fun one, and the result is something quite different.
